A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to invalid addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from acquaintances or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud platform and you’ve got a web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a lot of features, but it’s very intuitive, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes only a click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you will just have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires yet another click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with several mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses with any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you will need to click on the logo with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this feature can be achieved in the very same fashion and will not require more than a click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been activated for a certain domain name, you’ll get a warning note. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never replace or deactivate anything automatically.
